Occupation: Admin AssistantI can't believe 40 yrs have soared by!! I missed getting this info into the system before the July 07 reunion so here goes anyway.
I lived in the Tri-Cities (Kennewick WA) for past 29 yrs. I worked for a DOE prime contractor on the Hanford Site for over 15 yrs. Then my company lost the contract and several us took retirement benefits, me included, and then continued to work for the new folks.
My husband, Randy, had a family-owned trucking business for over 45 yrs and sold it in June 05. In June of 06, we decided to make a BIG lifestyle change and move permanently to our cabin on Lake CDA--we bought it in 1998 and had been going up every other weekend for several yrs. We quit our jobs, moved to the woods and water of N Idaho and we love it! Just a gorgeous area to live...we are 20 miles south of CDA off US 95 (about 8-9 mi north of the Casino if that helps).
Talk about a change...went from 1600 sq ft to 900 sq ft of living space...so we built a garage to help store all our crap!!We both will work a few more yrs then will retire for good. Randy works for the State of Idaho Trans. and has a great job with 4/10's and every Friday off. How cool is that! We still need to work to buy all our toys--yes, we do love the toys.
Life is good and feel lucky to be where I am in my life. Living on Lake CDA is the best thing we ever did for ourselves. If you are out on the lake in the summer, we like to hit One Shot Charlie's in Harrison and Carlin Bay on Saturday nights! It's a lot of fun!! The bands play a lot of old classic rock and roll...music that us 'boomers' can understand.
