Address, phone, email
My children are Molly (24) and Erin (26). Molly is living in Bellingham
and finishing up her degree in International Conflict and Mediation.
Erin lives in New York City and is actively directing and producing
live theatre. She is engaged to a Broadway actor (not meaning to brag,
but he is the current lead in Les Miz) and we expect a wedding in Montana
next summer. They are still my most valued friends and playmates!
I have a rich and full life; better than I could have hoped for. My
mother, Frances, still resides in Moscow at the Good Samaritan Retirement
Center. She enjoys good health and a full social schedule at 85. She
refuses to think about moving closer to her daughters, and as long as
she is happy we try to get over to see her as much as possible. After
400 years (it seems) of teaching high school and college English, I
retrained to teach adult academic ESL. I now work at the community college
level teaching English to college students from all over the world.
A typical class may have sprinklings of Mongolians, Vietnamese, Africans,
Japanese, Chinese and Koreans. It is pretty amazing to discuss topics
of climate change, the war in Iraq, and solutions to world poverty with
these amazing young adults. And they all have to speak English!!
I still miss my good buddy Diana Morton, who died of cancer two summers
ago. Being able to spend quality time with her the last year of her
life was such a blessing. On the bright side, her daughter Joni has
a beautiful baby daughter, Ella, and son Garrett married a wonderful
woman just a few months ago. As for me, I love almost everything about
Bellingham but the long, drizzly winters. I have a solution to that.
When I "retire" I want to spend 3 months a year in Costa Rica.
My traveling has been limited by my year-round teaching schedule, but
I've been to New York a couple of times this year, and will be traveling
to Japan in June to take part in the Shinto wedding of my boyfriend's
son. It has been 47 years since I last lived in Japan! Hopefully I can
get a couple of my students to show us around!
Thanks again to all of you who put this reunion together. My two years
of high school in Moscow were tons of fun, and it was because of all
of you that my senior year was one of the highlights of my life. Have
a great time!
Sincerely, Claire
