2007:
40 years in 2 paragraphs. (Yeah right). Where do we even begin! Just
celebrated our 38th wedding anniversary (I need an award for this.)
After college we left Moscow for Corvallis, Oregon, then off to Reston,
Virginia, then back to Portland, Oregon, all by 1976, where we now reside.
I was able to stay home for the first 15 years to raise our brood, and
then returned to the work force. Life has been fast paced for the Jacksha
family and I think our kids tried almost every sport there is. Now as
adults we still have most of their gear in the garage. We now have 5
grandchildren and spend time visiting all of them anywhere from Montana
to Arkansas.
I had a bout with shingles this spring (don’t recommend it to
anyone), which provided a time of reflection on what is really important.
Each time we return to Moscow, we picture ourselves retiring (certainly
not in the near future) in the Palouse Country. For the moment, Jerry
and I are rediscovering our love for each other and planning the next
few years for ourselves. We are active in our community church where
we met our close circle of friends. I have started walking for relaxation
and to get in shape for Bloomsday. I finally have my own sewing room
where I spend hours quilting and sewing. Now that I’ve used up
my 2 paragraphs, I’ll just sign off by saying I hope you are all
feeling as young and 58 as I am! Suzanne .
2017:
Ten more years and lots of changes. Our family has added 4 more granddaughters
and one grandson got married. So now we have 9 grandchildren. And they are all in the NW
finally. Our daughter Jessica lives near McCall, Idaho as she manages a hotel and helps
her hubby run a ranch. Our son Brook has the largest clan of 5 kids and is a civil
engineer in Bellevue, WA and they live in Kirkland. Our daughter Natalie and her
husband live in Helena and she gave us our newest grandbabies. She married a career
military man and after working as a rep for Phizer for 8 years she transitioned into
a full time mama. And our youngest Lindsay teaches 3rd grade in Sandy, OR so we see
her most often. We spend most of our time visiting family and look forward to more
time in retirement.
I am planning to retire from over 20 years at the hospital. Getting my sewing room
ready and looking forward to more time in my garden and expanding my Plexus business.
Jerry and I plan a cross country trip next summer to see sights and folks we have not
seen, my brother and family in NC and friends near Reston, VA where we used to live.
Jerry and I celebrated our 48 year anniversary this year. The time has flown by.
We come to Moscow as my dear mother in law lives here as do brothers from both
sides of our families. The Palouse will always be home to us. I will miss Fri
night as we arrive Sat and It has been great reconnecting with everyone and look
forward to the reunion.
