Diana Morton
Died at age 56 on Wednesday, July 13, 2005

Obituary
Diana Morton, 56, beloved mother, friend and librarian, passed away on July 5, in Seattle after a long fight with breast cancer. She went peacefully with her family and friends by her side.

She was born Feb. 20, 1949 to Edna and Warren E. "Bill" Morton in Moscow, Idaho. Diana is survived by her brother, Melvin Morton of Naples, Idaho; sister, Linda Roberson of Priest Lake, Idaho; four children, Nathan Turk of Las Vegas, Nev., Emily Turk of Seattle, Garrett Smith of Bellingham, Wash., and Joni Pecor of Seattle; and granddaughter, Ella Carol Pecor. Diana has joined her parents and sister, Carol Morton in heaven.

Diana resided in Mount Vernon, Wash., and was the librarian at Sedro-Woolley High School. She was a lifelong learner and held two bachelor's degrees from the University of Idaho and a master's degree from Western Washington University. She touched many lives with her passion for books. She gracefully assisted many students and colleagues in locating information.

Diana was a loving mother, passionate educator, and remarkable poet. She enjoyed connecting with nature and she spent her time engaging in book club discussions and writing groups. She will be greatly missed by all.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, July 17, at La Conner Flats in Mount Vernon.
