Judy K. (SCHARBACH) GROVDAHL
Was born November 10, 1948, in Colfax, Washington to Ann and Lester
Scharbach; she passed away March 21, 2006. Her father passed away in
1965 and her mother then married Hal Taylor, who quickly became her
dad. Judy graduated from Moscow High School and then went to Sacred
Heart School of Nursing, where she graduated in 1970. That same year
she was employed by Sacred Heart Medical Center, where she proudly served
as a registered nurse for 35 years.
During her tenure there she was privileged to develop friendships with
many dedicated nurses, doctors and staff members who will miss her dearly.
She is survived by Steve Grovdahl, her husband of 35 years; and daughter,
Echo Swanson and her husband, Chris; and son, Kyle of Puyallup, Washington;
daughter, Raina Havens and her husband, Ben and their children, Hanna
and Cole of Spokane; and daughter, Tiffany Grovdahl of San Diego, California.
She was justly proud of her daughters and sons-in-law, and her grandchildren
were the biggest joy in her life. While her father, Hal, predeceased
her, Judy is survived by her loving mother, Ann Taylor of Mesa, Arizona.
Judy was blessed with many friends and they enriched her life enormously.
She loved travel, particularly when she was with dear friends and family.
Because of the importance she gave to friends and family, that love
and caring was reciprocated many times over during her more recent battles
with leukemia. She met that obstacle in her life with her characteristic
courage and grace. She takes with her but few regrets and many warm
memories. Hers was a life well-lived. A Funeral Mass will be held at
St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 8112 N. Howard, Spokane at 11:00 a.m.
Saturday, March 25, 2006. SPOKANE CREMATION & BURIAL SERVICE, SPOKANE,
WA entrusted with cremation.
