Margaret "Margy" Weber
Died at age 56, former Moscow resident, on Wednesday, March 8, 2006
Obituary
Margaret Margy Weber, 56, died of cancer at her Minneapolis, Minn.,
home on Feb. 28. She was born to Rose (Ettesvold) and John H. Weber
Oct. 4, 1949, in Belvedeere, Ill.
Before she slipped into a coma Feb. 26, she married her long-time companion,
Doug Clow, in a private ceremony in their living room.
Margy was raised in Moscow and attended St. Marys Catholic Elementary
School. She graduated from Moscow High School in 1967. Margy graduated
from the University of Minnesota with a BA in journalism and received
a masters in public policy from the Humphrey Institute at the University
of Minnesota.
Margy worked with fundraising for several nonprofit groups that help
children and families in the Twin Cities, including Harvest Prep School/Seed
Academy, La Creche Early Childhood Center, and A Chance to Grow. She
also was executive director of Seward Community Clinic, development
director of the former Community Clinic Consortium, and founding member
of the Cooperating Fund Drive, now the Community Solutions Fund. At
the time of her death she worked for the Childrens Defense Fund as a
grant writer.
Cremation and a private memorial service have taken place. There will
be a public memorial service in Minneapolis on March 19.
She is survived by her husband, Doug Clow; son, Nicholas Weber (Steffany)
and his children, Ben and Stella; daughter, Meridel Nordley-Knox; her
mother; and her siblings, Mary (Weber) and Doug Tully, John A. Weber,
Kathy Weber, Susan Weber-Hein and Ron Hein, Kristie (Weber) and Jim
Rose, Jacquie Weber-Moline and Mark Moline and Tom and Lorraine Weber.
Her father preceded her in death.
Donations may be made to the Childrens Defense Fund of Minnesota, the
American Cancer Society or Sojourners Alliance of Moscow.
